Retirement benefits
- Retirement pensions with retiree child disability pension (Art. 16, 18, 20)
- On reaching retirement age, all members are entitled to a life-long retirement pension.
- This is subject to the provisions of Art. 18 of the Pension Fund Regulations relating to early retirement.
- The retiree's children will receive a children's pension up until 18 years of age (during further education up to 25 years of age).
- The amount of the annual retiree children's pension amounts, per child, to 20% of the retirement pension received.
- Option to take a pension or a lump-sum (Art. 17)
- On retirement, a member can take up to 100% of his/her retirement savings as a lump sum after deduction of any earlier withdrawals for home ownership.
- This results in a prorata reduction in retirement and survivors’ benefits.
- An appropriate written declaration must be submitted at least four months before retirement. The member's spouse must agree in writing to withdrawal as a lump sum.
- The amount that can at least be withdrawn as capital pursuant to Art. 37 para. 2 OPA or
up to CHF 80'000 can also be withdrawn as capital if the four-month notice period is not
complied with.
- Voluntary AHV Bridging Pension (Art. 19)
- Members who take early retirement can claim an AHV bridging pension to compensate for reduced retirement and survivors’ benefits.
